The Jo Bird JB29 was designed in collaboration with three major international companies including one of the world’s leading wind farm operators. It is designed to do the difficult job of protecting lifesaving equipment on top of offshore wind turbines for up to 30 years. Hundreds are being retrofitted to offshore wind farms across the North Sea.

At the forthcoming Seawork exhibition next week https://seawork.com/, our friends at Ocean safety will be showing a prototype of a revised version of the JB29 in the Innovations competition area. Why alter the design if it is so successful you might ask? Well, because it is not only the durability of the product that needs to be considered these days but also how much energy is used in it’s production how much waste is generated and harmful emissions created. Our recent success in the Inspire business award shows, Jo Bird have made significant progress at reducing the impact on the environment. This prototype incorporates resins made from recycled plastics and features a door manufactured using a closed mould process. This not only gives a higher quality finish but also reduces waste and styrene emissions. All without any compromise on the performance of the cabinet.

Please come and see for yourself in the Innovations area at Seawork 2022 in Southampton next week. This popular event runs from the 21st to the 23rd of June. Two members of the Jo Bird team will be at the event on Wednesday the 22nd and hope to see you there.
