It’s that time of year when people flock to the seaside to enjoy some beach time, along with sea swimming and watersports. It’s not without its risks and with 277 drownings in UK waters in 2021 (according to the Outdoors swimming society) and a high profile drowning earlier in the year, shows there is no room for complacency.
Thankfully, the volunteers at Coast watch are running the “Stay safe along the Coast” campaign from this month with plenty of advice and even equipment to help reduce the risks. We commend the volunteers at these thirty locations for giving up their time to help others in this way.
